WiIl signing up today get rid of the service I currently have with my current provider?

I want to sign up for Visible to get off my parent's phone plan but it's currently Friday afternoon so I would not get my sim card until around Tuesday. I want to keep my current phone and number but cannot lose my current service until I have Visible ready to go. Do I need to switch my number at the same time as I sign up? and if so will my current provider(Verizon) cut my service once they hand over my number?

NO! You are good! Order your Visible sim and when you get it open the visible app and go through the simple process. While you are waiting for your sim to arrive your service will continue to work normally. DO NOT cancel your old service...Once your number is officially ported your old service will automatically cancel.
