Service while in another country.

Hello. I have learned from the forum that international calling is available from the United States, but is calling available while in another country?  Just trying to find the best way to make sure my family knows I am OK while I am in Europe.

I cannot answer your question--knowledgeable folks in this area could.  However, I can suggest Google Voice. It can do the job.  I do NOT work for Google, btw. Download the Google Voice app to your phone, then make the call within that app.  You can make that call, using either the phone's cell connection or the WiFi connection.  It's darn cheap as well.  Gotcha is that you have to load some money to your Google account first.  Hope this helps.
