Bringing an iPhone over from Straight Talk/Tracfone.......

So my iPhone X was bought at an Apple Store and I've only used Straight Talk/Tracfone since then.

From what I can remember at the Apple store I had to choose a carrier even to buy the phone so I think I just said AT&T not really knowing at the time if I was gonna go with ST or not.

I just want to use this phone as a hotspot for my laptop while travelling.  

As I think I understand it, currently, I can with Visible at 5mps speed with one tethered device.

Just making sure because I tried this with T-Mobile once and it didn't allow the phones hotspot fuction to work.

A couple of notes:

-You will want to run your iPhone through the compatibility checker here: https://www.visible.com/shop/compatibility

-I believe Apple devices may not be subject to the one connection limit.

-If you have problems setting up the hotspot, I would refer to these two articles:
