Calls to and from Mexico Vacation

My husband and I each signed up for the $15/month plan a few months ago.  We are going on vacation to Mexico for 2 weeks.  I need to call the resort in Mexico to confirm some instructions.  Then we need to receive and make calls and texts while we are there.  Do I need to change my most basic plan to do this?  If I add the international plan for 1 month, can I go back to the basic plan at the $15 price?   Is there a way to temporarily forward my phone to my husband's phone so I only internation on one line?  Thanks,

International calling to Mexico I believe can only be done on the plus plan. As for roaming or using service while in Mexico you either have to be on the plus plan or follow the instruction for the Global pass at $5 a day to use on the base plan. The plus plan using service in Mexico doesn't require Global Pass since roaming is included there.

From my understanding on what the terms are for most promos are that if you change plans or leave and come back you forfeit any discounts that you have, so once you upgrade and go back to basic you will pay regular price.

As for call forwarding I am not sure if that is an option with Visible or not, I am not tech savvy and I'm only a customer myself and have not tried that. Only call forwarding I have done with Visible is forwarding my home phone to my cell phone but that was a feature of the phone company.

The base plan allows unlimited calls and texts from within the U.S. to Mexico As noted &while in Mexico, you can enable Global Pass at $5 per day; and upgrading to Visible+ will result in the loss of your promo pricing.

My resort has wifi.   The resort is large and my husband and I need to be able to text each other in the resort.  If I switch calling to wifi, will texting work without Global Pass.  Honestly,  this Global pass is pretty much a deal killer for us.  $5 per day per phone is outrageous.  Don't you offer a vacationing pass?

Enabling WiFi calling prior to departue on both phones (your's and husband's) should allow that use case to work.

I sometimes travel in areas that don't have cellular service at all; WiFi calling and texting has worked when I have access to WiFi in those areas.

Sorry, this is just a customer to customer forum - we don't set pricing.

I am not tech savvy at all but I have read you can get a data SIM while in Mexico you can set your Visible number to use the data from the Mexico SIM to make and receive phone calls and texts. I think this may only work with iPhone's but not sure. Again not tech savvy so you would have to do some research on how to set that up and get it to work.

My husband was able to get a real, live representative to call him back.  Not sure how he accomplished this, but he did.  Anyway, I explained to rep that were going to Mexico for 14 days and did not want to spend $5/day/line to communicate back and forth to US.  Also told her that our resort had wifi and we were bringing a laptop for business.   She was GREAT!  She turned off the global pass for each of us and enabled wifi on both phones.  We can receive texts or calls via Microsoft Phone Link or an old Skype account I had not used in years.  If we are off resort, we need to be without phone access but we rarely go into town.
