Pushing the "join" button in the app does nothing. I deleted everything and reloaded the app, doesn't help. I don't see any other way short of making a new account under another email.

Unfortunately, from what I read in other posts, after the 15 days, that's normal though. After you're ready with another email addy (without numbers or special characters), please don't forget to enter whatever promo codes you have available before you order/activate.
I didn't do the trial, so I can't say if there's warning in the fine print or not but if not, there probably should be. I'm glad your test run went well and see you around!
