Data Not Working, Customer Service Terrible (GPS-based?)

I purchased Visible around August and am currently on a basic plan with 15 GB of data.

It was working great until October when, about halfway through the month, I noticed that Google Maps wasn't working for me. I assumed I was out of data or something but realized I could do virtually everything but Maps and Pokémon GO and anything GPS-based. It's not a matter of high or low usage times or deprioritization, it's just not working.

I checked all the obvious things (Location Services, etc.) which wouldn't have made sense anyway because I never turned them off, then called Customer Service. The person appeared to just read FAQs from lists to me from her computer (like turning Airplane Mode off and on) to the tune of strange screaming in the background (like, literal human screams) and had no solutions. I uninstalled and reinstalled the apps and that did it, but the data went out again two days later.

It happened again a week later. Resetting Network Services helped...for a day. Now it's gone again.

Anyone have any ideas? This never happened to me with Verizon and it's super frustrating. Should I just try Mint Mobile or something? I've accepted there's no customer service and am not a tech guy.

The base plan isn't a 15GB plan, so you could not have run out of data since it is an unlimited data plan. Not sure how you "called" customer service since they are online/chat based with no phone number or you have to message them on one of their social media platforms. Even though you stated it isn't related to being deprioritized it likely is, if your games or maps aren't loading then you are getting speeds so low those apps don't have enough data speed to load. I know this because I was on the base plan for years and switched this year to the new plus plan to get above 1Mbps speeds. The traffic/congestion on the tower(s) was getting so bad during the day my data speeds were less than 1Mbps and things would not load on the phone. The other thing that doesn't help with maps and games loading is a weak signal, I have that issue also at my home. You can try and contact customer service again explain to them again you are having data issues and ask them to provision your SIM and see if that clears it up. You could also try the plus plan for a month to get premium data and see if that makes a difference, I think it will. If either of those two options are not viable than you would need to try another MVNO or carrier.

I must be mistaken in calling it a "base plan." I do have 15GB, and I did talk to customer service - this website has options for a customer representative to call you if you go through the con.ai chatbot/help bot and the troubleshooting steps don't resolve your problems.

Thank you so much for your help! Your response makes a ton of sense. I will see if that gets me where I need to be and if not, I will probably move on to another carrier, because this just isn't working. Have a great day!
