I'm a recent swap from Verizon. RCS Texts from Verizon chats say RCS disabled by Visible carrier. So Visible doesn't have RCS capability? Or this is something you have to find a workaround for? Currently the phone shows RCS not supported by Visible.
Thanks!

I switched from Google Messages to Samsung Messages as default application. This saved my present text history. Then I uninstalled Google Messages. Then I reinstalled Google Messaging and made it the default messaging app. RCS chats came up and were enabled. I knew from experience that changing the default messaging app to another existing app would save my history. Is that step required to save history? I'm not positive, but it works and I didn't want to take a chance on losing history. Thanks to Ace for the suggestions.

Yes, RCS is supported although problems are frequently experienced when switching carriers. Dependent on phone, operating system and messaging app various ways have been successful in getting it working. This includes uninstalling and reinstalling the messaging app (in some cases that's simply uninstalling update and reinstalling), clearing the messaging app data and cache, and/or toggling RCS off/on to reprovision RCS. Some have been successful doing this only while connected to WiFi but there's no single fix for all.
Identifying your phone, messaging app, os etc may yield more directed response.

Ace, Thanks for your response. I'll attempt the actions you suggested. I just don't want to lose my text history. So I'll have to be careful what I try. 🙂

If you want to save or backup your messages there is an app called SMS Backup and Restore available on the Play Store. I use it and have scheduled it to back up once a week but you can set up to daily if you wish. The app does act up once in a while and errors out on backup but I usually clear the queue and backup it up manually. If you have your phone set to back up to Google One automatically you will have a copy there also but not sure how you restore just your messages from there, I have never done it.
