New Service BackMarket Phone

Hello, 

I purchased a phone through BackMarket and received the code in the confirmation email to sign up with visible.   I'm trying to select my plan and am prompted to either buy a new phone, in which case I have to add something to my shopping cart that I don't want, or I can bring an existing phone but I don't have the IMEI yet and won't have it until the phone arrives in a few days. I've tried entering the code from the BackMarket order confirmation email as both the IMEI number, and as a promo code with a cheap new phone in my shopping cart and neither one works. I'd like to sign-up for my service plan now so I can get the Save24 promo. My current phone is locked to Verizon and can't be ported to Visible. 

Can I sign up for the plan now and get the promo or do I have to wait a few days until the new phone arrives in the mail and I can get the IMEI number?

If your plan is to sign up using eSIM there is really nothing can be done until the phone arrives to get the IMEI number. If you are signing up and going to use a physical SIM just select iPhone on the IMEI checker and then select iPhone 12 from the list and finish the checkout process. You should not need to add a phone to the cart to do this. Also, if ordering a SIM card for the base plan it is shipped USPS and will take upwards of a week to get, the plus plan the card is shipped next day or 2 day shipping(not sure what is being used now). Even if the card shows up after the promo expiration date you should still get the promo upon activation as that is when billing starts, the promo should already be applied to your account. You can port in your number later if that is your intention once your phone is unlocked from Verizon, to do so I believe you need to contact customer service to have that done.
