New T-Mobile Gateway causing problems

Been a Visible user for years, never had any problems until now. We just upgraded our older T-Mobile Home Internet gateway device to a new model, and suddenly, when I answer a call on my Visible phone, the caller can hear me for a couple of seconds, then they can't hear me at all. I've found that if I turn off the phone's wifi, I can then receive a call with no problem. Is anyone familiar with a setting in a router that might be incompatible with this phone using it as a VOIP gateway?
