Specification on tos

I am looking to use Visible+ as a mobile hotspot to connect all my personal devices while on the go or at home. According to Visible's marketing for the Visible+ Pro plan, I receive unlimited premium mobile data and unlimited hotspot use. I want to ensure that my usage aligns with the terms of service, but I need clarification on a few points.

Visible's Terms of Service mention that customers are prohibited from "manipulating our Service to use it as a replacement for a home broadband service." However, the exact definition of what constitutes "manipulation" in this context is unclear. If Iโ€™m simply using the hotspot feature included with my plan, how does that fall outside of the service's intended use?

Additionally, the terms refer to "persistently using excessive amounts of data in ways that negatively impact our ability to service other members or that defy normal and reasonable usage patterns." Yet, the Visible+ plan advertises truly unlimited premium data without any specified data cap. What exactly is considered "excessive" under this clause? In the absence of a clearly defined threshold (e.g., 500GB, 1TB, etc.), how can customers responsibly stay within compliance?

Regarding the hotspot policy, if Iโ€™m limited to tethering only one device at a time, but choose to connect that one device (e.g., a laptop or tablet) to a hotspot and use it as a gateway router or access point (which then shares the connection with other devices I own), does that violate the "single-device" hotspot rule? Technically, I am still only tethering one device directly via the phone, and any further sharing is handled by that device.

I think what constitutes abuse is if you are in the top percentage of data usage for your area it may get flagged by Verizon. How much is considered abuse, it depends, there have been responses on Visible's Reddit page that some have used upwards of 1TB and not get any notice. Although there is a topic that must be 3 years old on there where a person that used just over 1TB got a notice from Verizon to stop abusing or they would be terminated. It has also been mentioned a few times on Reddit where those that have used 450GB have been slowed down to something like 1Mbps while others have reported using well over 500GB and did not get slowed down.

There is no device limit on hotspot on any plan now with Visible. Your phone just needs to be capable of being able to hotspot multiple device or you need to change the number it is allowed to hotspot. iPhone's had this limit when Visible had this one device on hotspot policy a few years ago before the new plans come out, Android phones were able negate that rule. My older Motorola phone I had to go in a change the hotspot device limit from 1 to 10. My Samsung S24 doesn't have this setting, it allows multiple devices. I don't know how what settings there are on an iPhone.

It sounds like your plan is to use the hot spot in lieu of having home internet. That is a TOS violation. How long it takes Visible to find and warn you is a question.

Iโ€™ll just use a third party tethering app and a vpn so itโ€™s just mobile data
