I can try and answer your questions. If you are going for the iPhone 14+ phone promo on the pro plus plan the phone will ship out with 2 business day shipping, possibly overnight even, usually by Fed Ex, you, or someone, will have to be their when the package arrives to sign for it or it might be shipped back. For file transfer that is done by you, I don't know how it is handled on iPhone(I'm an Android user) but assume it can be done by USB cable. Once you get the new phone you need to connect it to Wi-Fi and you might want to install any updates first but don't think it is really necessary. Then download the Visible app as you need that to activate the eSIM. I am not familiar with how to do a port but from my understanding you will activate the phone on a new temporary number then once activated you can proceed with porting your number in. Your current phone will stay active as long as you don't cancel your service before porting, leave your current service active the port is supposed do that for you. Again, I am not familiar with porting as I started with a new number with Visible. If you have more questions you might want to check out www.visible.com and click on the help tab. There is more information there about how to activate and port in a number, best bet might be to click the SIM Central box. If you decide to go with Visible make sure and read up on the directions for activating and porting before the phone arrives so you know how the process works before doing it. Activating is pretty straight forward and the app has the directions to activate step by step, follow the steps precisely and it should go without a hitch.
