I haven't tried the jelly star with visible sim, but titan pocket, unihertz tank-1 and Jelly Max all worked flawlessly for a month or so, including calls, until Visible barred them all but after that everything still worked EXCEPT incoming and outgoing calls. I could even get voicemails and their notifications but had to check them from another device. I eventually gave up on sim+unihertz over this. I was fine for several years on Pure Talk, but the cost difference made me try the switch, thinking if it worked it would keep on working.
