No. You can cancel or you can stop payment. Cancel and you lose your number. Some have had success stopping payment and resuming service at a later date (presumably Visible won't release number for 60 days) - however, success varies. Best option might be to park your number with another provider or check in to a low cost plan elsewhere.
As I recall, U.S. Mobile had a snooze option for something like $3 a month - you could port out to USM and snooze prior to leaving.
