I can’t receive text messages or verification codes

I recently switched from Verizon to visible and kept the same phone number. I currently can’t receive text messages from anyone that I haven’t messaged on my new phone. If I have messaged them on my new phone then I’m able to receive messages from them. I also can’t receive verification codes that I need to get into my work account or banking apps. Any one ever had this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Same problem and I’ve tried live chat, but always end up at the place where I have to reset my phone and I’m not willing to give up all the information that’s on it.

Same here.  Live chat. didn’t help. I kept getting to the point where I had to reset my phone and I am not willing to erase all the information on it.
