I just activated my sim card, got a new phone and all is fine there. I can't send or receive SMS text messages. Does it take a bit longer after activation before SMS is set up?
I'm using Google Messages. I tried using the help on the app but it just sends me in a circle and doesn't answer my question. I've powered the phone off completely and then turned it back on. I don't think there is anything I can do on my end.
Does it just take longer after activation for SMS to be enabled. Everything else is fine.
Edit...actually everything else isn't fine. I can't call or get on the internet. I was just using my desktop via wifi.
It said it was activated. The number shows up in settings. Any idea what is going on?

If you are having activation issues you will need to contact customer service. If you can't get by the chat bot click something else for your issue, may have to do it again, when a message box appears type the work agent, it should ask you if you want to speak to a representative. You can also send them a message on Facebook, Instagram or X/Twitter, they will send you a link to chat and there is no waiting in queue.
Only suggestions I have is to go into settings, network and make sure mobile/network is turned on. Remove and reinsert SIM card, maybe restart phone again.
