If it is an iPhone I think I read it could take up to 10 minutes once activated. I think when I activated my Android phone a year and a half ago I had service right away.
If you still have no service and the SIM card is activated it would be my suggestion to get a hold of customer service, you have 3 options, by chat, Facebook messenger, or Twitter.
