On my android(Motorola) phone it transferred my apps from my old phone using Google Chrome/Cloud. Most of my photos and files I kept backed up on a micro SD card that I moved so not sure how much of the actually files would have transferred otherwise. On an iPhone I don't know what steps are needed to do that. I was prompted to do so on my Motorola phone or I don't know if I would have ever figured it out otherwise.
