New voicemail not giving notifications

When I receive a new voicemail, I'm not receiving the notifications to my phone. iPhone 13.

It often takes as much as one day before the notification badge hits my phone.

If I call the VM directly, the messages are there, but there is no way to know by looking at the phone. This is infuriating. What can be done? Should I turn off visual voicemail? Help!

I'd like to bump this,  I'm not using visual, simply not seeing any notification of a missed call or voicemail. 

Notifications never show. I have to call voicemail every time.

I am having the same issue with my Pixel 10 Pro XL. No missed call notification. Voice mail will show up the next day. I thought it was because I was using Google Take A Message and switched back to visual voicemail. However, it seems other people are having the same problem and have not mentioned using Take A Massage. I would continue using that, but I found the transcriptions were not accurate. Is this community moderated so the issue can be escalated?
